I’m Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. A good understanding has he that fears Him. To reverence and worship your creator genuinely, is the essence of your living. If you don’t acknowledge the existence of Almighty God your creator, you’re nothing in this world. Your educational, material, and other mundane achievements will pass away with time. All is vanity.
Ungodliness is vanity. You can be among the richest or most learned. As long as you don’t fear or reverence God, you have no standing. Most of the renowned inventors and scientists, who made remarkable inventions, are God-fearing people. Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein, the Physicists were among them. Michael Faraday who invented electricity, and Galileo Galilei who invented telescope, believed in the true God.
The Supreme Being created everything in this world, including human beings. What took Him only six days to create, have taken scientists and other professionals thousands of years be where we are today, in discovering the mysteries of creation. We still have a long way to go in making more discoveries, in years ahead.. His creation declares His existence. The orderliness of the universe is spectacular. The complexity of our world, points to a deliberate designer, who not only created our universe, but sustains it today.
Take for instance, the earth’s size is perfect. If it were smaller, atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If bigger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet, equipped with atmosphere of right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human lives. Again, the earth is located the right distance from the sun. If it were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze: any closer we would burn up. Even a little variance in the earth’s position to the sun, would make life here impossible.
God is in absolute charge of this world; which ignorant people don’t know. The “Mathematical Mysteries” of creation, should convince anyone there is a Supreme Being, who has put all these things in orderly form, by His great wisdom. “Thus said the LORD, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glory glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD which exercise loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight” –Jeremiah 9:23-24. Ingenuity without fear of God, is vanity. It’s what you do for God and humanity that lasts.
At God’s appointed time, you will leave behind all your possessions and achievements, die and depart from this earth. Naked you come naked you will go. King Solomon in his splendor, discovered the vanity of life.
He observed he would soon leave behind all he had, after dying. “Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and behold all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun, because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me. And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? Yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have labored, and where in I have showed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity”—Ecclesiastes: 2:11&18-19. David in his supplication said, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts into wisdom.”
An atheist doesn’t believe in the existence of God the creator at all. And there are quite a number of them who are very rich, and even own some social media. They are in a very bad situation. Even the devils know there is God, and they tremble. Anybody who doesn’t believe there is God is already lost. Unless he repents, he will have no part in the coming kingdom and everlasting life, God has given to those who worship him. That person is really a fool. The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.
Even animals which know there is God in heaven, are wiser than him. All species of creatures know God exists. The LORD communicates and passes instructions for them to follow. You must have heard of Prophet Elijah and the ravens (birds). The LORD instructed the ravens to be bringing fruits for him to eat. “Get you hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherit, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there” –1Kings 17:3-4.
There are number of incidence in this world which can prove God speaks to animals, and they obey Him. Remember, the story of how the God prepared a whale, that swallowed Prophet Jonah. At God’s command, it later vomited him on the dry ground.
There was an incidence of an engine boat, that broke down in a high sea. The occupants were stranded. As time went on, they noticed a pushing going on the boat. It continued until the boat came close to a beach (dry land). Then, the sea animal (whale), which was doing the pushing left it. The people came out and thanked God for their safety, and kept wandering what was pushing the boat. They were amazed to see a whale, bringing its head up and inside the river several times from a distance in the sea.. It was obviously to be sure the people were safe, before finally moving away inside the water. God used the fish to help and save them.
God doesn’t want to frighten people with the physical manifestation of His being. It can be very terrifying. When He spoke to children of Israel, on Mount Sinai in audible voice, they were highly afraid. They heard His thundering voice, smoke of fire on the mount, He read out the ten commandments to them. They begged Moses to be relaying messages from God to them. They appealed that God shouldn’t speak to them directly to them again, else they might die. God adhered to the request, and stopped addressing people in that form.
Can you imagine the owner of the whole world, which includes billions of galaxies, making physical appearance to you? The earth alone may not contain him. He is a spirit. Those that worship God shall worship Him in spirit and truth. He doesn’t want to force anybody to so. He has given us the freewill to choose whether to worship or reject Him.
But, time is coming when world system will stop function. God will take full charge of world affairs, through His kingdom rule. Riches will no longer be celebrated. Experts will exhaust their knowledge. Armed men will cry out for help. “And I saw a new heaven and anew earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea” –Revelation 21:1. Just before then, God will judge the inhabitants of the earth. Those who obey and serve Him will go in for everlasting life. While those ungodly people will suffer everlasting punishment. Take a decision today. As you choose to worship only God Almighty, let Him manifest Himself to you, and make your way more prosperous. Amen.
