A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mariam ‘Shetty’ Shettima, has reacted to the withdrawal of her nomination as a Minister.

SPY NIGERIA earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu withdrew her nomination and replaced her with Maigari Mahmud, who is also from Kano State.

Recall that Tinubu, on Wednesday, forwarded an additional 19 names of ministerial nominees to complement the previously sent 28-man nominees earlier sent on August 2.

However, on Thursday, Shetty’s ministerial nomination generated mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media, particularly, Twitter.

Reacting to the development in a Twitter post on Friday, Shetty appreciated President Tinubu for finding her worthy to be nominated as a minister in the first place.

The APC stalwart added that she is grateful and thankful for any decision taken by the President.

She wrote: “I was just informed now at today’s plenary session that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has withdrawn my ministerial nomination and replaced with Dr Mairiga Mahmud.

“I’m grateful and thankful for any decision from you My President!”

Shetty also appreciated the newly-elected APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, for his fatherly disposition and democratic stance that set the stage for her initial nomination.

She added:  “I felicitate with Dr Mariya Mairiga Mahmud. I thank the leader of our party HE Abdullahi Ganduje for his fatherly disposition and democratic stance that set the stage for a free and transparent contestation devoid of institutional bias, favouritism, or imposition of any kind.”
