*Discloses he emerged Governor despite not being member a party member
By Augustine Akpan
Senator Godswill Akpabio has described his estranged godson, Deacon Udom Emmanuel as the worst ingrate he has ever met in life.
Taking a swipe at Gov Udom Emmanuel over what he perceived as his hypocritical campaign slogan tagged “Only God”, Sen Akpabio said Udom has forgotten that God cannot be mocked.
Quoting copiously from the scripture specifically Psalm 41:9-10, Sen Akpabio said he was shocked that Deacon Udom whom he brought from Lagos to become Governor despite the fact that he was not a member of the party on whose platform he stood election and become Governor could have the temerity to call a world press conference to insult him at will.
Speaking further Sen Akpabio said Udom has lost touch with the fact that ingratitude remains the only unforgivable sin recorded in the Bible, else he won’t be mocking himself with the only God slogan.
Going sarcastic Sen Akpabio said
“Only God could have made it possible to make someone who was never a party member to become a governor.
“Only God could have made somebody who has never had a party card or know what is called ward to become a governor.
“Only God could have made someone who could not have stood election on his own even as a Councillor and win to be brought from somewhere and made Governor.
“Only God could have made a man who has never helped anyone to become anything to become governor”, Senator Akpabio quipped.
Speaking on what he described as Deacon Udom Emmanuel’s serial insults on his person, Sen. Akpabio who said he only ask God to make Udom his successor which he granted him. He said had he asked God to reveal the true person of the man he asked for as as a governor, he would have been properly guided.
He said he has no time to answer to any insult dished on him but all he asks God for was the grace to vote out Udom in 2019.
Akpabio however urged the people not to bother about the insults on him but should rather respond through the ballot by sending Udom parking in 2019.
He said Ikot Ekpene senatorial District remains a hot bed for APC and as such the people should ensure they don’t disappoint.
He said the Vice President would be in the state next Saturday to launch the market money where more than 2000 market women would benefit from the scheme with at least 40k each.
He said the district has four responsibilities namely: returning the President Muhammadu Buhari, Sen Godswill Akpabio, Obong Nsima Ekere and everyone on the ballot under the platform of the APC.
He also used the occasion to inaugute his Campaign Council.
The Campaign Council is headed by Dr Chris Akpan and deputized by Sen Aloysius Etok.
He tasked them to go and shine and bring victory to APC.
In his acceptance speech, the Deputy chairman of the Campaign Council, Sen Aloysius Etok thanked the party for entrusting them with the responsibility.
He tasked members of the party to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them.
