President Muhammadu Buhari who on Wednesday, met with the Super Eagles team and management at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, just before they departed to London, is set to support them all the way to Russia, the venue of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The president had asked the Super Eagles to play clean and fair, but bring the World Cup trophy back home, adding that the team is very young but encourage them to display the Nigerian spirit and their knowledge to a great advantage over their opponents.
Meanwhile, a picture of Super Eagles jersey with President Buhari’s name written on it, has emerged on social media, as many commend the president for being the number 1 supporter of the national team in their bid to win the world cup.
The fancy green and white jersey has number 19 on it which suggests the president has been handed a squad number in support of the national team.
The Super Eagles team will begin their campaign in Group D with matches against Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.
