Tension in Aso Rock as Tinubu plans for SABBATICAL LEAVE ahead of 2019 General Elections

Tension is currently brewing in Aso Rock the seat Of Nigeria’s Power as rumours of APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to proceed on a “political” sabbatical leave.

According to sources who are close to The Lion of Bourdillon, Senator Bola Tinubu, the APC chieftain is fed up with the whole game the APC is playing.

Reasons for the sabbatical leave was not stated but rumours have it that the APC national Leader is considering many options and his absence from the political scene for some time would help place a proper direction on the next line of action to take.

However, the source revealed that the Presidency has taken urgent measures to dissuade Tinubu from proceeding on his proposed leave. One of such measures was appointing the Yoruba leader as the head of APC reconciliation committee ahead of the 2019 general elections.Knowing fully well that Tinubu who is seen as the number 1 aggrieved person in the Party.

Calculations from the Tinubu’s camp, a 3-month absence would definitely turn things awry in the camp of the Pro-Buhari proponents. At this particular time when politicians are making fresh alignments and realignments the absence of the Jagaban would definitely be a minus for the ruling party.

Recall that days ago in a TV Interview with TVC wife of the APC National Leader, Senator Oluremi Tinubu cried out about the shabby treatment her husband is undergoing and how she has marvelled at why her husband is still trying to help shape the party and Buhari’s presidency.

Just two days ago the Asiwaju Himself wrote a letter to the National Chairman of the Party, Chief Odigie Oyegun accusing him of deliberately sabotaging his effort to make reconciliation amongst its members. In the letter, the APC chairman was accused of working against the tenets of the party. In his words…

“Instead of being a bulwark of support as promised, you positioned yourself in active opposition to the goal of resuscitating the progressive and democratic nature of APC.”

Tinubu said while Odigie-Oyegun mentioned Kogi, Kaduna, Kano and Adamawa as having serious crises, “you have taken it as your own personal ambition to thwart my presidential assignment in these key states.”

Already Tinubu is greatly watching the political pendulum and there are speculations that a Tinubu vice presidency to a popular Northern Candidate can indeed sweep the rug off Buhari’s feet.

How this would play out in the coming days can only be imagined, for now, we keep our fingers crossed as we watch things unfold.
